There’s an old Zen saying that states “Tea and Zen are of one taste”. Join us every Sunday morning as we explore the subtle connection between tea and mindful practices through a guided meditation and a tea gathering led my local tea and Zen practitioner Scott Norton. Sit as quietude is paired with the faint sound of the boiling kettle, the soft aroma of incense, and the exquisite taste of tea. Every Sunday tea meditation will feature a different tea tradition, ranging from Japanese chanoyu, Chinese gong fu cha, or the Korean Buddhist tea meditation, as well as a 40 minute guided meditation. The meditation session begins promptly at 11am with the ringing of the bell so please come early to prepare. A $20 fee helps to pay for tea, incense, and the continuation of mediation practice at Floating Mountain Tea House.
