All About Puerh & Hei Cha

  • Floating Mountain 239 West 72nd street, 2nd Floor New York (map)

In the second installment of tea talks and tastings at Floating Mountain Tea House, “All About Puer and Heicha” will explore the diverse and complex flavors and production styles that are China’s aged, fermented, and fully oxidized teas. With a history that spans 6000 years, puer and heicha have been both medicine and currency, imperial elixir and everyday beverage, and have shaped cultures from Tibet to Hong Kong, Russia and America. Join local tea scholar and tea practitioner Scott Norton as he brews these unique teas, exploring their origins, focusing on brewing techniques, uncovering the differences between “raw” and “cooked” puer, and much more.
